Job Title:  ICT Application Development Team Head

The job holder responsibilities are to manage an application support team and a system development team. The job holder ensures all software development projects are on track with proper planning, ensure all applications in the organization are at good status to support business units. In addition, the job holder also co-work with all relevant IT teams to have secured and smooth operational applications as well as to do continuously application enhancement.




1. Application Development and system integration 


  • Lead the Development team to develop internal applications per business needs
  • Develop systems to integrate with other external systems and applications
  • Play a role as system architect to ensure applications and systems are proper developed and deployed with quality assurance, performance assurance and security assurance. 
  • Be able to guide the team on coding guideline to prevent potential issues on system development 
  • Ensure Software Development Life Cycle policies are complied. 
  • Ensure quality assurance for all applications delivered by both external and internal development team
  • Assist users on testing systems/applications and follow up with timely delivery
  • Bring new technologies to solve the business obstacles and involve in the Digital transformation process of the company.


2. Enterprise application monitoring and support


  • Monitor and do health check to ensure applications are in good status
  • Support applications to ensure timely fix when having issue
  • Co-work with all stake-holders with effective communication for effective application support, application/system optimization and continuous application/system enhancement. 
  • Have knowledge on all business processes and system workflows 
  • Give out recommendation for ensure applications are up-to-date (with new framework, security patch, …) and co-work with IT operation to ensure smooth application upgrade


3. Team management and project management


  • Self-motivation and positive mind-set to make influence to the team
  • Train up team members with good service mindset and can-do attitude
  • Manage development projects effectively per assignment




1. Qualification 

  • University Degree majored in Information Technology (master degree is a plus)


2. Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years working experience in Software development cum Application support with at least 4 years in management role
  • Have experience on Finance/Banking sector. 
  • Very good at project management and team management 
  • Good experience at effective communication


3. Knowledge 

  • Experience on application development and system deployment
  • Rich experience at system architect, system tuning, system integration and DevOps model. 
  • Experience on Java, PL/SQL, Spring framework, AngularJS, Restful/SOAP API, … 
  • Have knowledge on mobile application programming language and experience on mobile application support
  • Good at SQL/Oracle DBMS
  • Knowledge on Infrastructures, networking, security is a plus.


4. Skills 

  • Able to communicate effectively with different stake holders
  • Able to manage team effectively and manage up levels. 
  • Able to communicate fluently in English (both written & verbal)
  • Good at trouble shooting, root cause analysis with wide knowledge not only in application area, but also other IT sections: security, infrastructure, network, …
  • Able to learn fast and act fast


5. Attitude 

  • Trust-worthy and have good attitude on facing multiple system issues
  • Positive thinking with service mind-set
  • Good collaboration and cooperation with all stake-holders. Able to work effectively with various levels of the organization, intra and inter-department/functional unit, with users, superiors and peers.
